Thank You

Your encouragement has been a keystone in bringing this dream of mine to life. I’m so grateful for your willingness to show up for me & to support my work. Thank you.
It’s been a busy & often exhausting season of life, raising my little ones at home while my husband has been immersed in grad school. For the past 9 months that I’ve been making & selling my silver jewelry I’ve been pouring what I could of myself into this craft. Careful not to pour too much or too little. Making time for myself to make art, yet not forcing it when life & parenting has felt too hectic. I’ve felt like I’ve had to keep myself & my goals for Plume Handmades reeled in, in a sense. It’s been frustrating at times, not being able to take this dream on at full speed. But I’ve known it’s not in my best interest to grind my way to where I want to be. So I haven’t rushed it. I’ve tried to stay patient & take my time. And that’s not because I don’t want it badly, it’s because I’m extremely passionate about this craft. I find joy in every step of the process. And I want to keep it that way. I want to be able to encompass those feelings—the patience, care, & focus—into my work, always.
Slowly, but surely I’m beginning to feel like I have more of myself to give to my silversmithing. I’m ready to pour more of myself in. I know that I’m going to have to continue to practice patience & carefully lay the building blocks. There is so much for me to learn. But I’m ready to go after this. Thank you for encouraging me to feel like I have a shot at this.
